Mark Bogues

Mark is a certified Mindfulness Meditation Teacher specialising in awareness and compassion based practices.

Throughout my life, I have been captivated by personal development and exploring a deeper and more profound way of relating to myself and the world around me. The journey began in my early twenties when I first delved into meditation, gradually deepening my understanding of its transformative power.

In 2009, I was introduced to the enlightening teachings of Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh, and by 2014, I found myself fortunate enough to relocate to the Plum Village Mindfulness Practice Centre in France, where I spent seven years living in the community and dedicating my time to practise.

During this time, I received the Five Mindfulness Trainings in 2014, followed by the Fourteen Mindfulness Trainings of the Order of Interbeing in 2016. The Mindfulness Trainings offer concrete ways of practice that deepen our understanding and help us see people, situations, and our environment more clearly.

In 2023, I became a certified Mindfulness Meditation teacher after completing a two-year professional training program for teaching awareness and compassion-based practices. This program was led by Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield through Sounds True and the University of California, Berkeley Greater Good Science Center.

Returning to Plum Village in 2023, I rejoined the community to further deepen my practice. I am profoundly indebted to Thich Nhat Hanh and the Plum Village community for their support in developing and sustaining a daily mindfulness practice. The profound benefits of mindfulness have touched every aspect of my life, and I am dedicated to sharing these practices with others.

Presently, I lead mindfulness courses to extend to others the same transformative opportunities that I have been fortunate enough to experience.
